I am glad maybe now we will have some better movies coming out. Instead of the same old tired plots maybe something old will breathe some new life into Hollywood.

I agree with you Lisa – I am so sick of half dressed women sleeping with 4 different guys, blow them up, car chase, animated, superhero films. “The Artist” really was a nice change of pace. I HOPE Hollywood takes note of it.

Yes I’m sick of the beautifully choregraphed sex scenes of perfect passion involving perfect people. Reminds me of daytime soaps. Vacuous, empty fantasy drivel. In real life women and men who sleep around almost daily get sexually transmitted diseases. Never hear of them in film land. Same with the guy or girl walking away from an exploding car or building. Ever heard of a shock wave blowing them off their feet? Of course not. Or a car chase where the reactions of the drivers are superhuman and car tyres never burst. Films for children.

PGreen – are you being sarcastic?

I didn’t mean that I am not for some escape-ism when I go to the movies. I just would appreciate less formula & a bit more creativity. wasn’t that part of the reason why the Studio System was killed off?

And haven’t you noticed Soaps are a dying format they killed my Erica Kane off last year.. 😉
