For anyone with loved ones buried in any cemetery the last thing you want is a large group of people not related to those who have passed creating a party atmosphere. There is a time and a place for everything and this idea is crass.
I think it’s fitting, Paul. It’s very popular and has been going on for years. The biggest problem we have as authors is that the living forget those people who’ve passed, the people that WE write about. This is a way of honoring them. I don’t find it disrespectful at all. Maybe some of them even enjoy seeing their own movies from beyond…
When I saw the photo, I immediately knew it was Hollywood Forever. At first I found the idea of viewing films in a cemetery odd, but when you realize that this is in Hollywood and know the history of this cemetery… it is kind off neat! I saw this cemetery back in the 80s when it was run down… it was so sad… particularly with the Hollywood Royalty that are buried there. It is wonderful what they have done to bring it back to it’s former glory… I am glad it is being enjoyed and celebrated!!
