Way to go West Hollywood Council! Approving the demolition of such historic buildings, it’s a crime. Oh, but they’re leaving up one wall of the old facade…yep, that’s preserving Hollywood history – NOT!

I find that one of the saddest things I have read in a long while. It doesn’t surprise me but still sickens me. There is no place for old Hollywood to age gracefully. You really can see very little of it today. It just goes to show once more that the Film Business is first and foremost, a business.
It’s so sad that we don’t try to preserve our history in this country like european countries do,I guess I’m glad I got to see the studios while I was in Hollywood in 2010.
They’d rather build a Hollywood Theme Park than preserve real history in America. Let it be a lesson to all the “stars” of today. You’ll be discarded just like the old buildings when your youth fades. America is the definition of a consumer society. It eats you up and spits you out and moves on to the next fast food joint. Ruthless. Always has been. Always will. No respect for history if a profit can’t be made.

I want to jump on a plane right now and fly over to California to sit at the front gate of these studios to stop them knocking it down. Please don’t let them do it! x
