I was never a fan of this movie. Hepburn is a taste I never acquired and Bogart was at his best in gritty crime or gangster dramas. So the thought of taking a $45 trip on this boat has zero appeal. Notice the “African Queen”
lettering below where Bogart and Hepburn are standing is now a closed off area in the overhauled boat.
I’m not a Hepburn fan either. She lacked warmth, I thought. Still, I think it’s very cool that the boat still exists and it’s in use. That boat is certainly one of the biggest, most well known movie props from the Classic Hollywood era.
