I wonder if Debbie Reynolds will be at the funeral services? I think not. Great actress at her peak but a not so great private life. She chewed up and spat out men before breakfast. Of course she mellowed in later life and now we see the kindly elderly figure. But at the height of her sexual prowess she was a man-eater. That’s the Elizabeth Taylor the papparazi loved.
Oh, I’d bet Debbie will be there, Paul. In fact, I was reading an article yesterday that stated Debbie Reynolds was one of the last people to speak with her. Despite their controversial past, apparently they had mended fences and become quite friendly…so much so that Carrie Fisher commented that, “…”If my father had to divorce my mother for anyone, I’m so grateful that it was Elizabeth.”
Here’s the article: http://celebs.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979159391
That’s good to hear. A friend of mine recently sent me a package of film magazines from the early 1960s. Elizabeth Taylor or Debbie Reynolds dominate the covers.
A great quote today from Debbie Reynolds reflecting on Taylor’s life : “Elizabeth has done a great job and I’m very proud of her. She went through her younger years of just obtaining what she wanted and later in life she became a little more aware of other people’s feelings.”
That’s a good one. A bit of a nod to stealing Eddie in that quote, with a softer ending to make up for it 🙂
