I guess Farley Granger is to be considered “the third” classic Hollywood star to pass away…they ALWAYS go in 3’s and Jane Russell and Elizabeth Taylor predeceased him.
Upon hearing of her friend Elizabeth Taylor’s death, Zsa Zsa Gabor was convinced she was next to go…well, it’s not your time yet, Zsa Zsa…keep on fighting!
Farley Granger Dies
Farley Granger was great in Hitchcock’s “Strangers On A Train” with Robert Walker. Also excellent in Hitchcock’s “Rope.” Good at playing easily manipulated types.
Oh, I loved “Rope,” it’s one of my favorite Hitchcock films, Paul.
Yes it’s unique Michelle. I think he did 20 or 30 minute single takes at a time. Hitckcock was a brilliant director in his prime.
I haven’t seen “Rope” in years…might buy myself a copy of the DVD on Amazon. It’s a definite keeper. Yeah, Hitchcock was brilliant. No doubt about that. For a film that is pretty much all-talk, it’s absolutely gripping. Every performance in that film makes it the classic that it is. Can you imagine a remake with today’s actors? The cast…the director…the final film…UGH!
