The Warner Archive Collection have done a great job releasing TEN Lupe Vélez films on DVD this month! There’s the eight films in the fabulously funny “Mexican Spitfire” series, as well as Kongo (1932) and Strictly Dynamite (1934), the latter with Lupe’s frequent and equally-manic co-star, Jimmy Durante. For around $80 USD, you can add all ten of these Lupe Vélez films to your DVD collection…at $8 a piece – how can you go wrong?!

I have to say, out of all my books, whether it was before publication or even after, my current Lupe Vélez project has received the most reaction (all positive) from fans. I get daily e-mails from people, either asking about when the book will be released or just general praise for writing it and expressing their excitement that it’ll soon be published. I DO respond personally to these e-mails, but I also wanted to take the opportunity to publically thank everyone for their enthusiastic praise, encouragement and kind words of support. Look out for the book sometime around mid-2012!
Thank YOU!
