Please Donate Towards a Cenotaph for Peg Entwistle

We got her (& her father) a long overdue headstone, now it’s time to raise funds for a Cenotaph at Hollywood Forever. This memorial plaque will face the Hollywood sign, the very sign Peg Entwistle jumped to her death from in September 1932.

Peg EntwistleΒ is often referred to as “The Hollywood Sign Girl” because of the tragic way she took her life, jumping from the “H” of the Hollywood sign, a sign that represents hopes and dreams, not only to her, but to any aspiring star who makes their way to Hollywood. Some succeed, some fail. Peg felt she failed. However, there was so much more to her story…a tragic twist. If you’re not familiar with her biography, take a look at her highlighted name at the beginning of this paragraph, click for more info.

Β $3000 is needed to get the plaque made and placed. Be a part of history. Every dollar helps. Thank you SO much πŸ™‚

West Hollywood Studios to Be Demolished…In a Matter of Weeks!

Way to go West Hollywood Council! Approving the demolition of such historic buildings, it’s a crime. Oh, but they’re leaving up one wall of the old facade…yep, that’s preserving Hollywood history – NOT!

The BIG Classic Movie Poster Auction: Results Are In!

Dracula sold for $143,000, less than I thought…the whole treasure trove brought in just over half a million! Not bad for a lot of posters that were found stuck together with wallpaper glue and used as attic insulation!

The Verdict is IN! Cocaine Killed Whitney Houston…

…at least it was the cause of her heart disease, subsequent heart attack and accidental drowning. For her family, her mother especially, the knowledge that her daughter was still using is a shocking one. To the rest of the world…not so much. Whitney Houston’s self-destruction took two decades. Had she not died when she did, with a 60 per cent reduction in her arteries BECAUSE of her chronic drug use, she was a ticking time bomb.

Marilyn Monroe’s REAL Voice…

In the below audio interview you will hear Marilyn Monroe’s REAL speaking voice.Β Though recognizably her, her natural voice is a much lower register than the higher pitched/sexy coo that was manufactured Β for the screen.

The Infamous “While I’m Still Warm…” Money Clip to Be Auctioned…Along With Lots More Marilyn Monroe Memorabilia From the Estate of Allan “Whitey” Snyder!

Allan “Whitey” Snyder was Marilyn’s longtime makeup artist…he did her post-mortem makeup, but before her death, Marilyn asked “Whitey” to promise her that he’d do her makeup if she died before him. He joked, “Sure, bring the body back while it is still warm and I’ll do it.” Marilyn appreciated the joke so much, she gifted him with a gold Tiffany money clip.

The inscription read:Β Whitey Dear – While I’m still warm – Marilyn.

Sadly, by early-August of 1962, it was a joking pact that “Whitey” made good on…though he carried out his promise to do Marilyn’s post-mortem makeup, he needed a flask of whiskey to get him through the emotionally traumatic Β job.

With a starting bid of $3,000 and a sales estimate of $6,000 – $8,000, I have a feeling that this piece will go a lot higher than predicted. As of this writing, it already has a current bid of $4,000 and the auction doesn’t begin until March 31st.

Along with the money clip, there are many photos and letters from Snyder’s estate going under the hammer.
